Samsung has launched its fastest PCIe 5.0 SSD, the PM9E1, designed for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and gaming. Solid State Drives (SSDs) have become crucial for modern computers, replacing slower Hard Disk Drives (HDDs). Over time, SSD prices have dropped, and their speeds have significantly improved. Samsung’s new PM9E1 reaches speeds up to 14.5 GB/s, making it ideal for tasks requiring high-speed data processing.

The PM9E1 uses a 5nm controller and 8th generation V-NAND technology, nearly doubling the speed of the previous Samsung 990 EVO Plus PCIe 4.0 model. Available in sizes ranging from 512 GB to 4 TB, this SSD offers impressive performance for data centers, AI servers, and even high-end gaming PCs. It also transfers large files, like a 14 GB AI model, in under a second.

Samsung has also improved the PM9E1’s energy efficiency, making it a good choice for systems requiring both speed and reduced power usage. The SSD includes new security features like Security Protocol and Data Model v1.2 (SPDM), ensuring data safety by protecting the device from tampering and unauthorized access.

With the release of the PM9E1 company continues to push the boundaries of speed and performance in the SSD market.
