GEEKOM is preparing to launch a new mini PC called the QS1 Pro. According to recent leaks, this device is set to feature powerful hardware, making it GEEKOM’s first step into Arm-based PCs. This move seems to be aimed at competing with products like Apple‘s Mac mini. However, the leaked details suggest it might face challenges, particularly with its pricing.

The QS1 Pro is expected to come with the Snapdragon X1E-80-100 processor, part of the Snapdragon X Elite family. This chip includes 12 Oryon cores and a graphics processor that delivers 3.8 TFLOPs of power. Interestingly, some reports mention the GPU performance could reach 4.6 TFLOPs, hinting at the possibility of another version with a more powerful processor, the X1E-84-100.
For memory and storage, the QS1 Pro will support up to 64 GB of LPDDR5-5600 RAM. It will also feature an M.2 2280 slot for storage, allowing users to add up to 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. This makes it a strong option for those needing fast and reliable performance in a small package.
The mini PC will also offer a wide range of ports for connectivity. These include HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, USB4, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one USB 2.0 port, an SD Card slot, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and a 2.5 G LAN port.
One major downside to the QS1 Pro could be its price. Rumours suggest it will cost between $740 and $840, which is much higher than many other similar mini PCs. While this pricing is not confirmed, it may make the QS1 Pro less appealing to budget-conscious buyers.
The Geekom QS1 Pro is expected to be unveiled at CES 2025 next month. This event will likely provide more details about the mini PC and help us understand whether it offers good value for its high price. Until then, buyers will have to wait to see if GEEKOM can deliver a competitive product in the growing mini PC market.
