iPhone SE 4 may launch as early as next week – Rumor
After a long wait, Apple may officially launch the iPhone SE 4. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the device could be announced as early as next week, with an expected release date at the end of the month. The report also mentions that Apple is not planning to hold an event for the iPhone SE 4; instead, the device is expected to be announced through a press release.
From the information that has circulated so far from unofficial sources, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be a much more powerful model, but also somewhat more expensive than the previous ones.
Thus, it would use the design of the iPhone 14, with a larger screen and, for the first time for this series, Face ID for facial recognition instead of fingerprint scanning with Touch ID. The product will be based on the same 3-nm A18 chip as the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. In addition, the iPhone SE 4 will have 8GB of RAM to meet the requirements for running Apple’s artificial intelligence applications.
Besides, it will use a 5G modem chip designed by Apple instead of the Snapdragon 5G modem from Qualcomm that the company has used before. If everything goes well, this modem chip will probably be applied to all iPhone 17 models that Apple is expected to launch in September this year.
The iPhone SE 3 starts at $429 for the 64GB version, $479 for the 128GB version, and $579 for the 256GB version. With the innovations in the iPhone SE 4 and the recent 10% tariff on imports from China, the price of the iPhone SE 4 in the US could be higher than the current version.
In addition to launching the iPhone SE 4, Apple may also introduce the PowerBeats Pro 2 earbuds, which are said to be the company’s first product with a heart rate monitor.
iPhone SE 3 shortage paves the way for the appearance of iPhone SE 4?
Currently, inventory of the iPhone SE 3, which Apple will release in 2022, has been depleted at Apple stores in the US, with many customers unable to find specific versions of the iPhone SE 3 due to shortages. This is often a sign that a new model is about to launch.

As for the other specs, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to have just a single rear camera with a 12MP sensor, similar to what Apple is planning for the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. The device will have an aluminum construction, IP68 dust and water resistance, and a 3,279mAh battery. Meanwhile, analyst Ross Young from DSCC said that the iPhone SE 4 will have a notch instead of the previously expected Dynamic Island design.
