Samsung Galaxy Buds FE 2 Leak Hints at 2025 Launch
Reporting on March 5, Dutch tech outlet Galaxy Club found that Samsung is preparing to launch the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE 2, its next-generation affordable wireless earbuds, possibly later this year.
Details on the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE 2 themselves are scant for now, but according to the report, they will offer a typical set of features seen on the Galaxy Buds FE, mixing affordable hardware with sound quality that is “just right” for the target audience — people who want to save cost.
Samsung debuted its Fan Edition (FE) line for its earbuds in 2023, catering to consumers wanting flagship capabilities without the flagship price. In the years since, the company has focused on making premium models, The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, for instance, while leaving the budget segment alone. The Galaxy Buds FE 2 is all about this, bringing back the FE series’ value-oriented mentality that targets consumers who place affordability above all else.
The new model — which goes by the code SM-R410 (the current FE’s is SM-R400N) — is apparently in active development, with Samsung also testing its firmware. While there is no confirmed release date for the new earbuds, sources believe they could hit the market as early as summer, potentially alongside others with FE branding, including the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE. That said, a fall launch in line with the Galaxy S25 FE’s arrival does remain a possibility, too.
While putting the FE line back into its audio portfolio seems to poise Samsung to strengthen their footing in the competitive mid-range space. More information about pricing and design should emerge closer to the launch window.
