Lexar launches the world’s first 1 TB microSD Express card, perfect for Nintendo Switch 2

Lexar, a well-known brand for storage devices, has introduced something exciting for gamers—a 1 TB microSD Express card, the first of its kind in the world! This new memory card is designed to offer super-fast speeds, making it perfect for handheld gaming devices like the Nintendo Switch 2.
Faster speeds for better gaming
The new Lexar PLAY PRO microSDXC Express Card is built on the latest SD card technology, which combines PCI Express 3.0 and NVMe 1.3. This means it can read data at up to 900 MB/s and write at up to 600 MB/s, making it one of the fastest microSD cards available. With these speeds, games will load much quicker, and downloads will be faster too.
With a 1 TB storage capacity, this card can hold many big games, including AAA titles that take up a lot of space. If 1 TB is too much, Lexar is also offering smaller options—512 GB and 256 GB.
Works with old and new devices
Even though this new card is designed for next-generation gaming devices, it still works with older devices that support UHS-I and UHS-II. However, in older systems, it will work at slower UHS-I speeds. Lexar is also offering a limited lifetime warranty on this card. Plus, if you ever accidentally delete or format your files, you can use the Lexar Recovery Tool to get them back.
Joey Lopez, Lexar’s Director of Brand Marketing, shared his excitement about this new product. He said, “The new microSD Express standard helps us create a card with incredible performance. We are happy to offer gamers a memory card that gets them ready for the future of handheld gaming.”
