Ghost of Yotei gets October 2 PS5 exclusive release with $249.99 Collector’s Edition
Ghost of Yotei, a new action-adventure game, will be released on October 2, 2025. It will be available only on the PlayStation 5 for now. Sony shared this news along with details about special versions of the game.
Pre-orders will begin on May 2 at 10:00 AM. Those who pre-order will receive seven PSN avatars that show the main character Atsu and the group called the Yōtei Six. They will also get a special mask for use in the game.
There will be three versions of the Ghost of Yotei game. The Standard Edition costs $69.99 and includes the base game. The Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99 and includes four extra cosmetic items along with early access to a map called the Traveler’s Map. The Collector’s Edition, which costs $249.99, includes everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition plus many real-life items: a mask like Atsu’s, a sash, a sword guard (called a tsuba), art cards, a small coin game with a pouch, and a paper model of a ginkgo tree.
Sucker Punch also released a new trailer of Ghost of Yotei that shows the villains known as the Yōtei Six. These characters are responsible for killing Atsu’s people and pushing her toward a journey of revenge. There is no date yet for when the game might come to PC or other consoles, but many think it might happen around 2027. There are also talks about expanding the Ghost of Tsushima universe with TV shows or movies.
Although the game has a strong story, players will have the freedom to explore and complete missions in any order they want. The game takes place in Ezo, which is now known as Hokkaido. Players will be able to explore freely, set up camp at night, and decide how to hunt down the members of the Yōtei Six.
Ghost of Yotei: Atsu’s story
The story of Ghost of Yotei is about Atsu, who was attacked sixteen years ago by the Yōtei Six. They killed her family and left her pinned to a burning ginkgo tree with a sword. But she survived. Over time, she learned how to fight and returned home with one goal: to take revenge. She now carries a list of six names—The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito. She uses the same katana that once hurt her to go after each one. However, as she continues her journey, she will meet new allies and discover that there is more to life than just revenge.
