Acer Predator SSD GM7000 NVMe PCIe SSD – Top Notch Gen 4 Speeds
Enos Tech Verdict
The Acer GM7000 is a great NVMe PCIe SSD that offers blazing-fast Gen 4 speeds in a power-efficient package. The Biwin Flash chips and Nanya DRAM help to make it a suitable drive for almost any PC or laptop that can utilize Gen 4 speeds. It comes with a free customized version of Acronis so you can get your files transferred or backed up in no time and start making use of the GM7000 ASAP.
Pros:
- Good performance
- Great efficiently
- Free Acronis software
Cons:
- Pricing isn’t as competitive as we’d hope
Storage speeds are pretty much at that point where most people don’t need the latest and most fast drives. For most, a Gen 5 NVMe SSD would be a complete waste. However, Gen 4 and Gen 3 drives still offer amazing speeds and come without the ridiculous price tag of current-gen drives. Today we are taking a look at the ACER PREDATOR GM7000 NVMe PICe Gen 4 SSD.
Of course, it is always worth double-checking which storage drives are compatible with your PC or laptop. For instance, if your system is designed for Gen 3 drives, while a Gen 4 drive may work, you won’t be able to utilize its full speed. Essentially, you could save yourself some money by going with the correct drive for your system, money that could be spent elsewhere if needed.

The great thing about NVMe drives is they don’t require any cables or accessories to use, they simply plug into the motherboard and that is it. Making things even easier, a lot of motherboards these days even have their SSD heatsinks, so there is no need for NVMe manufacturers to always include them, though some still do.
Acer has decided to include a special graphene cooling pad that is said to drastically reduce the overall temps of the GM7000 when under higher loads.
Acer has gone with a 12 nm flagship 8-channel controller that should allow for some of the fastest transmissions for end users while keeping power consumption and temps to a minimum.
The GM700 comes with an independent DRAM chip from Nanya. This chip is 8Gb DDR4 DRAM with 512Mx16 bits and a 1600MHz clock frequency. Acer has said not only will this help the GM7000 perform better in random read and write operations, but it will also help to improve the longevity of the SSD.
There are four NAND Flash chips, two on each side to make up the 2TB or roughly thereabout storage that the GM7000 has to offer. The “BW” on the chips is for Biwin who has been working on making a name for itself over the past year. These chips are 512GB modules in an 8-bit configuration with a 176-layer Flash.

Final Words
The Acer Predator GM7000 NVMe SSD does what it sets out to. It offers great speeds in an efficient package. While its standard price may be a bit higher compared to similar drives on the market, should you come across one on sale, or this be the only option available to you, worry not. The GM7000 will stand the test of time and be a great addition to any PC or laptop it is used in.
While we always want the lowest price possible, depending on what region you are in, there could be other reasons as to why the price seems a bit higher. At the end of the day, the Acer Predator GM7000 is a solid offering and won’t let you or your system down should you get your hands on one!
