Akasa Launches New USB-C NVMe SSD Enclosure with Supercapacitor
Akasa has released a new storage device called the AK-ENU3M2-08. This device is a small box where you can put an M.2 2230 NVMe SSD. It connects to your phone or computer to store your files, making it handy for people who need extra storage.
What makes this device special is that it works with iPhones and lets you save 4K ProRes videos directly to the SSD. It uses the MagSafe connector on newer iPhones, so you can attach it easily.
The Akasa AK-ENU3M2-08 also has a supercapacitor, which acts as a backup in case the power suddenly goes out. It takes 5-6 minutes to charge and helps protect your data. However, it might not work in every situation, as losing power can also mean losing the connection to your device.
Another useful feature is that the enclosure supports 100 W USB Power Delivery. This means it can pass power through to other devices while you use it for storage.
The downside is that the device uses a 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, which is slower than some other similar products. But its special features might still make it a good choice, especially for people who need extra safety for their data.
Akasa hasn’t shared the price yet, but this product could be great for people who record videos or need reliable storage.
