ASUS has introduced a new gaming laptop called the V16, with the model number V3607, in overseas markets. This laptop is designed as an entry-level option for gamers and does not belong to ASUS’s ROG or TUF Gaming lines. Its design is simple and minimalistic, and the laptop weighs just 1.95kg despite having a large 16-inch screen.
The ASUS V16 is built to be durable, meeting the MIL-STD 810H military standard. It comes with a 63Wh three-cell battery and has a thickness ranging from 18mm to 22mm. The keyboard features transparent keycaps for the WASD keys and the arrow keys, though the arrow keys are only half the usual height.
In terms of performance, the laptop offers a choice between Intel Core i5-13420H or i7-13620H processors. It also provides options for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 or RTX 3050 graphics cards. The screen is a 16:10 display with a resolution of 1920×1200, a refresh rate of 144Hz, and brightness of 300 nits. However, the colour range is limited, covering just 45% of the NTSC colour gamut.
The laptop supports up to 32GB of memory with dual DDR5 slots and comes with a PCIe 4.0 slot for storage. Buyers can choose between configurations with either 8GB or 16GB memory modules and storage options of 512GB or 1TB.
For connectivity, the V16 supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. However, it does not include a wired Ethernet port. The laptop has various ports on both sides. On the left side, there is a charging port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a USB-A port, a full-function USB-C port, and a headphone jack. On the right side, there is an additional USB-A port.
This new offering from ASUS is designed to be a lightweight and affordable gaming laptop while still offering reliable performance and useful features.
