Closer Look

Inside the box, we will find the Pure POwe 12 PSU itself, the mains cable, a small bag of screws so we can install it into our case, and some handy zip ties for that ever-important cable management.

Taking a look at the unit itself, on one side we have the large label with all the input/output voltages which also features the model name and serial number.

On the other side, we have a subtle be quiet! logo. I love to see this as while I don’t mind a bit of branding, I am not a fan of the over-the-top logos that stick out like a sore thumb. be quiet! is always on point with this as their logos are never flashy.

The Pure Power 12 range comes with an on/off switch directly on the PSU. We can also see that is rated for 100-240Vac as standard so will work in multiple regions with no issues at all.

I’ve always been a fan (no pun intended) of the intake fan/grill area on be quiet! PSUs and I must not be the only one. be quiet! has used similar-looking designs across a range of models and while they may not be seen a lot once in a PC, they do look nice.

The top of the PSU is rarely seen and as such, be quiet! have left it completely blank. No point in wasting time and hassle on something that really makes no difference at all.

Pure Power 12 750W Connectors

The 24-pin power connector for the motherboard is still a 20+4-pin connector. I personally have not seen a 20-pin power connector in years but I guess if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. It’s nice to see that while this PSU is ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compatible, it is still backward compatible as well.

for EPS power connectors there is 1x 8-pin and 1x 4+4-pin connector. This should be suitable for future motherboards while still being compatible with older hardware as well.

The Pure Power 12 wouldn’t be complete without a 600W 12VHPWR connector. Of course, the verdict is still out on these connectors but as long as NVIDIA continues to use them, manufacturers such as be quiet! will have to continue to add them to their power supplies.

For those with and AMD GPU or an older NVIDIA GPU, you will be happy to know that the Pure Power 12 750W also comes with 3x 6+2 PCIe power connectors. While all of the Pure Power 12 range feature 6+2 power connectors, it will depend on the wattage of the PSU as to how many are included so if you need these, make sure to double-check the unit you are looking at has the correct amount.

Last but not least, we have 2x SATA power cables, one of which features a single lonely MOLEX connection. The cable with the MOLEX connector has 2x Sata power connections while the other cable has 4x SATA power connections. This should be more than enough for most standard PC builds.

Final Words

The be quiet! Pure Power 12 power supply is an impressive non-modular unit. It comes with all the connectors you will need based on your chosen wattage including the newer 12VHPWR connector. A 120mm fan keeps things cool while remaining nearly silent during the most strenuous operation.

For the price, you are getting an 80 PLUS Gold-rated PSU with a 10-year warranty. The warranty alone speaks volumes of the faith that be quiet! has in these units. The are designed to stand the test of time and be quiet! backs this with an amazing warranty!

When it comes to looks, the Pure Power 12 reminds us of the previous be quiet! PSUs, which isn’t a bad thing at all. I have been using them for some time now and have never had a single issue with any be quiet! PSU I have used. They are durable, strong, and last for many years, even surpassing their warranties in most cases. The flat black cables are always a nice touch as you can tuck them away and even if they can be seen, they are not an eyesore.

All in all, be quiet! has given us another top-notch PSU that we can highly recommend.
