Dell Alienware has introduced its latest “Area 51” gaming laptops at CES 2025, bringing high performance and stylish designs to the gaming market. The lineup includes two models, the Alienware 18 Area-51 and the Alienware 16 Area-51, both aimed at delivering top-tier gaming experiences.
High-Performance Hardware
The new Area 51 Gaming laptops are powered by Intel’s latest “Arrow Lake-HX” processors, offering the Core Ultra 9 275HX with 24 cores and the Core Ultra 7 255HX with 20 cores. Paired with NVIDIA’s next-generation laptop GPUs, these machines promise powerful gaming performance.
The Area-51 models allow for up to 64GB of memory, thanks to two SODIMM slots with speeds reaching 7,200 MT/s when using XMP profiles. For storage, the laptops support PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 SSDs, offering up to 12TB of storage capacity with three M.2 SSD slots.

Improved Cooling and Design
Alienware has reworked the cooling system in the Area-51 gaming laptops, enabling 35% more airflow while reducing noise levels by 15%. This makes the devices more efficient and quieter, even during demanding gaming sessions.
The Area 51 Gaming laptops feature a new design with a liquid teal finish, updated lighting effects, and a “Zero Hinge” design, enhancing their aesthetic appeal while improving functionality.
Display and Connectivity
The Alienware 18 Area-51 and 16 Area-51 both feature high-quality displays with QHD+ resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, 500 nits brightness, and NVIDIA G-Sync support. These specifications ensure a smooth and vibrant gaming experience.
For connectivity, the Area 51 Gaming laptops include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, multiple USB Type-A ports, and Thunderbolt 5. These features provide excellent compatibility with modern devices and accessories.
Release and Pricing
The new Alienware Area-51 laptops are expected to launch in late Q1 2025, with prices starting at $1,999 and going up to $3,199, depending on the configuration.
