GALAX Unveils GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X
GALAX has officially revealed its latest high-end graphics card, the GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X. This new card is part of GALAX’s well-known Hall of Fame (HOF) series, designed for top performance and extreme overclocking. The launch took place in the Chinese market, and the card stands out with its unique white design and RGB lighting on a “Plus-X” structure, making it visually striking.
The RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X is built using NVIDIA’s new “Blackwell” GeForce RTX 5080 GPU. Many hardware enthusiasts were hoping for a GeForce RTX 5090D version, but GALAX chose to start its HOF series for 2025 with the RTX 5080 instead.
The card features a high-quality 12-layer white printed circuit board (PCB) and a powerful 14+6+6 phase power design. It also includes a 70A high-current DR-MOS power stage, ensuring stable performance. Unlike the previous RTX 4080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X, which had two 16-pin power connectors, the new model only requires a single 16-pin connector.
The cooling system consists of three fans: two 102 mm fans on the sides and one 92 mm fan in the center. GALAX uses its special “Frost Ring Blades” to improve airflow and keep the card cool while running quietly. For users who want extra cooling power, GALAX includes a “Hyper Boost” mode. This feature allows the fans to spin at their highest speed when needed, and it can be turned on with a switch located on the card’s I/O bracket.
The GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X comes with a dual BIOS setup. The overclocked “P-Mode” boosts the clock speed to 2730 MHz, offering better performance. Since GALAX has not yet listed the full specifications on its official website, some sources estimate that the card might have a maximum power rating of around 400W. One interesting feature is the error detection system, which is similar to ZOTAC’s “Safety Light.” This system helps users identify issues with their GPU.

As of now, GALAX has not started selling the RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X in China. More details, including pricing and availability, are expected to be announced later. Enthusiasts and overclockers looking for a high-performance graphics card will likely keep an eye on this new release.
