GTA V made its debut in 2013 and ranks as the second-best-selling video game in history. Recently, Rockstar Games released a GTA 6 trailer that got over 90 million views in 24 hours. Although the teaser confirmed the game would be released in Fall 2025, it didn’t provide the exact release date.
Now it appears that the launch date may have been leaked by a Spanish online store, XUruguay. Their store catalog displayed a game page for GTA VI, listing September 17, 2025, as the release date. According to a report by 80.LV, when questioned, XUruguay claimed that they have a direct relationship with PlayStation and receive updates on products, including release dates.

However, it seems that XUruguay has since updated its GTA VI store page, removing the date. The game description was also changed from a PlayStation 5 exclusive to a new installment in the GTA series for next year.
The timing of the leak is also notable, as GTA V was released on September 17, 2013, exactly 12 years ago to the day. Some have suggested that this could be a coincidence or a placeholder date from the GTA V era.
Possible Release Price of GTA 6 Sparks Debate
Industry analyst Matthew Ball has reported that GTA 6’s standard edition could be priced at $100, a significant jump from the current price of AAA games. This prediction is based on the game’s immense popularity and increased production costs. The gaming industry has already seen a price hike from $60 to $70 with the release of next-gen consoles in 2020, and a jump to $100 would set a new benchmark.
GTA 6 System Requirements Revealed
At launch, GTA 6 will be available exclusively on next-generation consoles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Unfortunately, it will not be playable on previous-generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to reports, the PC version is expected to be released in 2026, and the game is anticipated to require high-end specifications to maintain flawless performance.
