TechRadar recently cited a since-deleted episode from Kiwi Talkz, a podcast hosted by a former Rockstar Games developer, which alleged that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will run at a capped 30 frames per second (FPS) on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. While the report highlighted the frame rate limitation, specific details about the game’s resolution were not shared.
This follows a pattern seen with Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5), which originally launched at 30 FPS on older consoles like the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The title later received a performance upgrade to 60 FPS when re-released for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Separately, rumors have emerged suggesting GTA 6 could launch on September 17, 2025, aligning with Take-Two Interactive’s confirmed fall 2025 window. Notably, this date would mark the 12th anniversary of GTA 5’s initial release in 2013. However, Rockstar Games has yet to officially confirm these details.
