Intel is rumoured to be working on a new Arc graphics card based on the Battlemage architecture, featuring 24GB of memory. According to Quantum Bits, as reported by VideoCardz, this card is expected to offer twice the memory of current models, making it more suitable for professional use than gaming. It will reportedly use the same BGM-G21 GPU as the Arc B580, which has 12GB of GDDR6 memory and a 192-bit bus. Another model, the upcoming Arc B570, is expected to include 10GB of memory and a 160-bit bus. The new 24GB model could achieve its increased capacity using higher-capacity memory modules or a dual-sided module design.
This Battlemage GPU is believed to be targeted at tasks requiring large memory, such as artificial intelligence applications like Large Language Models and generative AI. It may also be useful in data centres, edge computing, educational environments, and research facilities. Intel does not currently have a high-memory GPU for such professional markets, so this model could fill that gap.
When Will These Battlemage GPUs Release?
The release of this Battlemage GPU is expected in 2025, with a possible announcement in late spring or before Computex. Until then, Intel plans to continue producing its current Arc gaming GPUs, which have been well-received. This rumour suggests Intel is expanding its GPU plans to include professional and AI-focused markets, a move that marks a significant shift from earlier uncertainty about the future of the Arc lineup.
