KiiBoom Loop65 Specifications
Unboxing
The keyboard comes in a neat box with a simple yet elegant design. The front shows a keyboard outline, while the back includes minimal details like support information. Inside, the packaging is sturdy, with foam to keep everything safe during transit.
You’ll find the keyboard protected by a plastic cover. The box also includes a USB-C cable, a 2.4 GHz receiver, a keycap and switch puller, a hex wrench, and a manual everything you need to get started.
A Closer Look
The KiiBoom Loop65 has a full aluminium frame, and it feels solid and premium. It’s pretty heavy, around 1.4 kg, so it doesn’t move around while typing. You can get it in two colours Black Grey and Rose Gold Pink. I have the Black Grey one, and it looks sleek, fitting perfectly into any setup.
Its dual-coloured aluminium frame is split into black and grey, with seamless blending at the sides. The silver hex bolts add a modern touch, while the silicone feet keep it stable. However, adjustable feet for a custom typing angle would have been a nice addition.
The Keeb also has a nice polished aluminium volume knob, which you can push or click to mute or unmute. I really like the Vol knob, so that’s a thumbs up from me. However, it doesn’t have a dedicated Del key, and that’s a thumbs down for me.
Switches
The switches are smooth and responsive, making them great for gaming since they don’t require much force to press. The sound they produce is nice and crisp but not too loud, which is ideal. The hot-swappable feature is convenient, allowing easy switch changes without any soldering. Overall, the experience has been smooth, and the keyboard is comfortable for daily use.
Keycaps and RGB Lighting
The PBT dye-sublimation gradient keycaps are built to last, resisting wear and fading. Their textured surface offers a comfortable feel, complemented by south-facing RGB LEDs for uniform lighting.
The LEDs enhance visibility in dim settings and allow customisation of colours and effects, appealing to users who value both functionality and aesthetics.
Software and Customisation
The KiiBoom Loop65 supports QMK and VIA software, unlocking extensive customisation. From macros to lighting effects, users can personalise every key. While VIA’s interface may feel complex initially, its real-time feedback simplifies adjustments once mastered. For enthusiasts, this software transforms the keyboard into a tailored productivity or gaming tool.
Connectivity and Battery Life
Versatility is a key strength of the Loop65. It supports USB-C, Bluetooth, and 2.4G wireless connections, seamlessly switching between up to three devices. Compatibility with macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS ensures a consistent typing experience across platforms.
The 4000mAh battery offers approximately 100 hours of usage with RGB enabled. A red Fn key indicator alerts users when it’s time to recharge, ensuring uninterrupted performance.
Final Thoughts
The KiiBOOM Loop65 is an excellent mechanical keyboard that perfectly blends premium materials, ergonomic design, and customisation options.
