MSI Introduces SHADOW 2X Graphics Cards for GeForce RTX 5070
MSI has added two new graphics cards to its GeForce RTX 5070 lineup—the SHADOW 2X OC and SHADOW 2X (non-OC). These new models appeared on the company’s website without any official announcement. MSI has already released several versions of the RTX 5070, including the high-end VANGUARD and the budget-friendly INSPIRE 3X. Now, the SHADOW 2X series joins the lineup, offering another option for gamers.
A New Design with Dual-Fan Cooling
The SHADOW 2X series features a dual-fan cooling system, called TORX 5.0, designed to keep the graphics card cool while gaming. This design is similar to MSI’s VENTUS series, which focuses on offering good performance at a lower price. Unlike premium models with extra features, the SHADOW series keeps things simple, providing a reliable gaming experience without extra design elements. MSI describes the series as a “performance-focused design that delivers the gaming experience players want.”

MSI Shadow 2X RTX 5070: Pricing
MSI has faced criticism recently for the way it handled the launch of its RTX 5070 cards. Many people, including tech media like VideoCardz, have pointed out that MSI did not release enough models at MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price). Instead, the company launched higher-priced versions, making it difficult for buyers to get an affordable option. This issue was widely discussed in February and March, with many gamers frustrated over price increases.
Now, with the release of the SHADOW 2X models, there are concerns about availability. Some experts believe these models might be hard to find, which could lead to higher prices once again. For now, MSI has not shared details about when or where these cards will be available in large numbers.
MSI is not the only company launching different versions of GeForce RTX 5070 cards, but with so many models already out, some gamers feel the lineup is getting overcrowded. Whether the SHADOW 2X series will be easy to buy at a fair price remains to be seen.
