During his CES 2025 keynote, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, introduced the new generation of Nvidia RTX 5090 graphics cards, based on the Blackwell architecture. The RTX 5090 features 92 billion transistors and delivers over 3,352 TOPS of AI computing power, with support for DLSS 4. The starting price for the RTX 5090 is $1,999, with availability beginning January 30.
Pricing for the new RTX series is as follows:
- RTX 5090 (3,352 AI TOPS): $1,999, available January 30
- RTX 5080 (1,801 AI TOPS): $999, available January 30
- RTX 5070 Ti (1,406 AI TOPS): $749, available February
- RTX 5070 (988 AI TOPS): $549, available February
This new generation of Blackwell-based products brings significant upgrades compared to the previous Ada Lovelace architecture, including PCIe 5.0 support, GDDR7 memory, and DP 2.1a interfaces. All models now feature 16-pin power connectors.
The RTX 5090 is built on the GB202 architecture and includes 21,760 CUDA cores, marking it as the first GeForce GPU to exceed 20,000 cores. It is also the only model in the series equipped with 512-bit, 32GB GDDR7 memory and can draw up to 575W of power—125W higher than the previous RTX 4090.
Notably, the RTX 5070 Ti will not be available in a Founders Edition design, with only AIB (Add-in Board) custom models being offered. However, the RTX 5070 will still feature the Founders Edition design.
