Sabrent’s focus is to provide a fast, portable media for your on-the-go requirements.

unnamed 3

The drives will be compatible with the Microsoft Windows and Linux. The Thunderbolt 5 is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 4 but you would not get the intended TB5 speeds on the TB4.

unnamed 4

Sabrent will launch three storage capacity drives starting from 1TB and a maximum of 4TB.

unnamed 5

The new Thunderbolt 5 protocol is rated for a whopping 80Gbps compared to the 40Gbps on the Thunderbolt 4. This is a huge leap in the technological advancement where the portable drives could match or even exceed the speeds of the PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSDs.

unnamed 6

Sabrent will use aluminum shell to act as a heat transfer media. The drives will have monitoring functions.

unnamed 7

The drives don’t need external power since they use bus power for a simple connectivity.

Stay tuned for more updates and pricing information along availability of these new drives. I have tested Sabrent Thunderbolt 4 drive which is still being used on the test bench where required. I am hoping to see some Thunderbolt 5 stuff soon for testing.
