UK-based games publisher Kwalee and independent developer Galaxy Grove have announced their new game, Town to City. This cosy city-building game will be released on PC via Steam in 2025. Players will get the chance to build and customise a beautiful 19th-century Mediterranean town and watch it grow into a thriving city.
Galaxy Grove, the team behind Station to Station, is excited to share their vision for Town to City. The game offers a relaxing and creative city-building experience where players can freely place houses, shops, and decorations without being restricted by a grid system. The developers recently released an announcement trailer, giving a first look at the game’s charming voxel art style and peaceful gameplay.
Joost van Dongen, Founder of Galaxy Grove, expressed his excitement about working with Kwalee:
“We’re thrilled to partner with Kwalee as our publisher! From the very beginning, they shared our passion for reimagining the city-builder genre with a fresh twist. Their belief in our vision and their expertise in publishing have helped us bring this project to life. We’re excited to share our announcement trailer and look forward to bringing the game to completion!”
Ben Forrester, VP of PC & Console at Kwalee, also shared his enthusiasm:
“Town to City is a fantastic addition to our portfolio of games. With Station to Station, the team at Galaxy Grove proved they could create games loved by players. We were excited by their vision for Town to City, and we’re thrilled to partner with them at Kwalee to bring that vision to life.”
Town to City lets players build and manage their own settlement in a way that feels natural and relaxing. Unlike traditional city builders, this game removes the need to follow a strict grid layout, giving players complete freedom to design their town. The game offers both a campaign mode with challenges and a sandbox mode where players can build at their own pace.
Players can freely place houses, shops, parks, and streets to design a unique town. The game also includes deep customisation, letting players add decorations, set up lights, and plant flowers. As the town grows, players must manage residents’ needs, assign workers to jobs, and develop the economy through farming and tourism. The voxel art style and relaxing soundtrack create a peaceful atmosphere, and a photo mode allows players to capture their town’s beauty.
